AISI 4330V (also designated 4330 MOD or 4330 Modified, governed by AMS 6411) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel developed as a performance upgrade over standard 4340 and 4145H for the most demanding downhole drilling and aerospace structural applications. The grade is characterised by two key modifications to the base 4330 composition: vanadium addition (0.05-0.10%) which acts as a grain refiner and temper embrittlement inhibitor, and elevated silicon (1.45-1.80%) which raises the tempered martensite embrittlement (TME) threshold - allowing higher tempering temperatures without sacrificing strength. The result is significantly better toughness at equivalent strength levels compared to 4145H or standard 4340, making 4330V the preferred material for API Spec 7-1 Class 2 BHA components (minimum 150 ksi / 1034 MPa yield strength, minimum 160 ksi / 1103 MPa UTS) where 4145H Class 2 toughness margins are insufficient for deepwater, extended reach, or HPHT well conditions.
Nifty Alloys supplies AISI 4330V / 4330 MOD from stock in Dubai, UAE, in round bar and hollow bar in Q&T condition. API Spec 7-1 Class 2 certified material (with full Certified Test Report including chemical analysis, Jominy hardenability, tensile testing, Charpy impact, and cross-section hardness survey) is available from our qualified AMS 6411 mill sources - specify at enquiry stage. AMS 6411 aerospace-certified material is also available for non-drilling aerospace structural applications. All material is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates as standard. We deliver across the UAE within 24-48 hours and export to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. Contact our team for same-day quotation.
